Wholly Spring Outfit of the Day!

We're getting into the spring spirit over here at Wholly Tara! The warm weather is here, time to get out the tanks and sandals.

Nothing says spring/summer fashion quite like a fun printed strappy tank top. I love this one from Mystree because of the mixed prints and the split back. The colors in this top are amazing, they're both neutral and a pop of color at the same time.

I decided to pair this statement top with a pair of  AG Sateen cigarette leg pants in this beautiful not-quite-white color called quartz. It's the perfect compliment to the busy print of the tank. Cuff em up for a cropped look or wear them long, up to you!

Lastly, I finished off the outfit I added a platform sandal--the shoe of the season--to add some height and darkness to the look. 

Finish it off with a matching black bag and you're good to go. You can use any bag, but I love this tote because it easily fits my iPad and whatever book I'm currently reading.

Wholly Slimming Shapewear from Lysse!

If you love Lysse's leggings, you're going to love their new slimming tops, tanks, and dresses! Their maxi dresses (available in Sedona and Coral) and margot dress (available in Garden Aura and Black) both have a four-way stretch shapewear lining that smooths and flattens the tummy area as well as eliminates and bra or panty lines. The lining starts below the chest in the front so as to not squish the girls, and it doesn't ride up throughout the day. 

Also in from Lysse is this gorgeous ruched tee that comes in both white or navy with all the same shapewear magic that comes inside the dresses.

And we can't forget about this amazing, asymmetrical tank they made as well; pair it with some sandals and white denim for a timeless and stylish summer look.

Also new this week is Lysse's crop legging now with a ruched skirt attached so you can get the legging look with more coverage where you need it. Because of the skirt you can even wear these leggings with shorter tops, giving you more options than ever.

Wholly Mixed Prints!

An easy way to make a bold fashion statement is to mix prints, which can be done as simply as pairing a floral scarf with a striped cardi like we did here. 

In this photo we styled the Wooden Ships Striped Cotton Wrap Cardigan over a cream lace trim tank with a floral scarf that also has black and cream in it. The trick to mixing prints is to always make sure that your prints are in the same color scheme, otherwise you end up clashing! To style the rest of the outfit, I just picked a denim that had a light blue grey wash that matched the blue color in the scarf, and picked a rusty brown belt and a pair of boots to also pull color from the scarf and make the whole look cohesive. 

Want to try a different color scheme? Use the same sweater only in its dove grey and bright white color option. This will allow you to mix and match with a totally different scarf and jeans.

The jeans pictured above are the Maria high rise skinny from J Brand in Disclosure which is a light and bright blue/grey wash that I love for spring/summer. What I love most about this particular pant is that the fabric is super soft and stretchy while still retaining the weight and feel of a true denim--there's no need to worry about these sagging or bagging out. 

You can't leave the house without a purse, so I styled with the above outfit is this beautiful black leather crossbody bag from Bed Stu. The big whip-stitched details give it an ethnic look and show just how much hand detailing goes into making their bags. 

Also picture is the Bed Stu Arcane ankle boot, and the Bed Stu Grace stitched belt, which I love because the holes in the belt are part of the design and therefore go all the way around the entire belt, allowing you to go up and down sizes easily.

Be chic and casual in our new linen button up from CP Shades! It's easy to wear and easy to care for, just throw it on over your favorite tank with your best jeans and when you're done you can machine wash and dry.

This light weight basic looks beautiful with just about anything, but we love it with a light and bright floral scarf for spring! Also shown above is a pair of purple flip flops from Havaianas and this gorgeous purple leather bag from Sorial. It's embossed to look like snake skin, but no actual snakes were harmed in the making of this bag. Plus, in addition to being worn as a cross body bag, as shown in the picture, the shoulder strap can be removed and it can be worn as a tote.

Last but not least are those gorgeous J Brand jeans shown above. Just in for spring, this high rise relaxed flare is a comfy and casual-chic take on denim. The high rise helps to slim your mid section while the relaxed fit through the legs doesn't cling or pinch.

Florals, Flippies, and Fun Colors: Can You Tell We're Ready For Spring?

 

Kick back and TGIF in this casual Friday look. Centered around our Wooden Ships Ruana poncho in this beautiful cornflower blue, this look is all about transitioning into spring. Stay warm in the Wool/Acyrlic/Mohair blend of this beautiful sweater, but think warmer weather with a colorful pair of flip flops, a floral scarf, and a pretty lace bralette layered underneath. 

The Ruana poncho is one size fits all and is available in these two gorgeous colors: Azalea and Cornish Blue. Both are wardrobe staples! Wear it over a long sleeve tee with jeans and boots for colder weather and then wear over a tank with cropped denim or cut offs and sandals for spring/summer. 

Wholly Intimates now available in store! We love these super soft and comfy lace bralettes, they add a little bit of pretty to any outfit, even if they aren't seen by anyone but you. Plus, they come in gorgeous spring colors, and we even have lace thong panties to match! 

 Lastly, no look is complete without the perfect pair of jeans! Shown styled with a cuff is  J Brand's mid rise rail in oblivion. The rail is a slightly wider leg opening that a traditional skinny or legging jean which makes it perfect to cuff up with sandals because there's still a little looseness to work with. Plus J Brand's super soft and comfy denim is so easy to wear whether you're lounging on the couch or walking all over town.

Wholly Think Pink!

Think pink in our new button-back crew sweater from Wooden Ships! Cute and practical from Valentine's Day and a great spring transition piece. We styled it here with AG's legging in this light to medium blue wash, over a cream layering tank, and accessorized it with Bed Stu's fringe bag and Opal harness boot. Lastly we added a cream fedora and this cream and brown floral scarf to brighten up the look and tie all the colors together.

Wholly Outfit of the Day!

It's all in how you put it together! Take this feminine floral tunic from Neesh and a floppy hat and pair them with a little denim vest and Bed Stu moto boots to toughen them up. Wear the whole thing with a pair of J Brand mid-rise skinny jeans for an easy, flattering, and chic look!
